A New Torchwood Miracle Day Transmission Date, The Clues...

Those who read this blog yesterday will be familiar with Torchwood The Lost Files, here. Giving this some thought will BBC Radio 4 be playing a Torchwood story set over 2 years ago, with Ianto still alive, at the same time as Torchwood Miracle Day is on BBC1? I think this is unlikely, so transmission may be later than originally thought.

It now looks to me like Torchwood Miracle Day is on BBC1 on or after 14th July 2011, we may find out this Thursday when the BBC press office release week 29 transmission details, this will make the BBC 2 or 3 weeks behind Starz, I suspect our download links may be more popular then I originally thought!

Meanwhile WhoBlackpool's facebook page says Torchwood Miracle Day will air at 9pm on July 1st, this is very wrong, Starz are showing it first for starters, and they have it listed for over a week later :)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news and I really don't know for certain, but I wouldn't expect that Miracle Day runs in the UK until after it is done running on Starz. Starz is a pay channel in America like HBO and Showtime. In order for them to make a profit from Torchwood, they need to be exclusive. Any free US posts of the show on the web will be immediately removed, I am sure. In order to have some control over Americans getting the show without paying for it with a subscription to Starz, I am guessing that is why they negotiated for a later UK run. Again, this is all mere speculation. Sorry.

The Pillars of the Earth started here (in The Netherlands) about when Starz was about halfway through the series. The original Spartacus when Starz was nearly at the end. Besides, Torchwood is also still an IP from the BBC, so I bet they delay won't be too long.
