Doctor Who Experience shortlisted for Welsh Tourism award.

The Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff, which opened its doors to the public only last July, has been shortlisted for a National Tourism award in Wales.  The awards, which were announced on Monday at the launch of a new tourism strategy for the country, celebrate the best of Welsh tourism from luxury accommodation to first class attractions.  Edwina Hart, Welsh minister for Economy, Science and Transport had this to say about this year's shortlist:
It’s fantastic to see such a high number of entries for this year’s National Tourism Awards for Wales. What’s more, the quality of those entries was outstanding. We are very fortunate in Wales to have a tourism sector of such high calibre. The shortlisted businesses are prime examples of quality businesses, helping to drive higher tourism earnings for the Welsh economy.
That the Doctor Who Experience has been recognised like this less than a year after opening is a real testament to its quality as a visitor attraction.  All shortlisted businesses will have to go through another round of judging before the finalists are announced and the award ceremony is held on the 21st November.  You can find out more about the National Tourism Awards for Wales here.
