Reporting live from the BBC 50th Doctor Who Convention Head-Writer Steven Moffat confirmed that filming for Series 8 of Doctor Who will begin in January with Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman. Moffat also commented that the series will air in the autumn however couldn't specify any further because himself and Capaldi do not know yet.

Considering that Jenna Coleman has already said that she has already filmed with Peter Capaldi, I can risk saying that this Christmas we'll see the "thirteenth" Doctor in action.
