Updates Regarding Reports about Doctor Who Series 7 Delayed until 2012

Let's preface everything by saying that nobody knows anything. We're just puppets in that grand circus called "news". It seems that the following report was generated by some BBC official, which could either mean it's all true and the sky is falling, or that somebody somewhere got something wrong. Or everything wrong. We just don't know.

We've just discovered that this seems to come from one Wayne Clarke, self-described as "BBC Merseyside's Religious Editor". Here's what he had to say within the past hour.

It was part of a talk given today by Danny Cohen, Controller of BBC One at the Church and Media Conference

So he's sticking to it. Kasterborous have since started to withdraw from certainty, rightly having doubts about all this. At the moment, we'll have to class this as a rumour, since it could be anything from real to a complete lie made up by someone determined to generate self-interest or a front page story in The Sun. For now, let's reserve judgement.

UPDATE: Sci-Fi Bulletin has written up an article about this news story, adding these remarks:

It has been reported that Cohen attributed the delay in new Doctor Who to showrunner Steven Moffat's commitments to Sherlock, the BAFTA-winning series he co-produces with Doctor Who writer Mark Gatiss.

Still, judgement reserved.
