Torchwood: Miracle Day - Possiblity of a Cut Down

From around episode 2, people have been complaining that Torchwood: Miracle Day is moving way too slowly. I've also seen people saying that it would better as 5 episodes or something similar. So I decided that if enough people want it then I'll try to do one. To help me decide, please answer these quick polls below.

You can pick more than one option in the following poll.

Despite whatever the results of the poll maybe, I can't say it will be that number either way. It all depends how much can be cut without effecting the storyline but it would be used as a guideline.

Well, it would be nice if this Torchwood season was shorter and more condensed. But I don't I would watch it. Well, I already am watching an "extended" version. Don't have time for another round :) But I may be helpful for new viewers. We can always said "New Torchwood was great. But don't waste your time of oficial version. Download this one."

The problem is not with the number of episodes but with the very slow writing (e.g. the long introductions for the new characters and their lives and for Americans to get familiar with the show.) I personally think the show is now picking up the pace (after what happened to Juarez).

i agree, as a 6 part story it would have been awesome, but it really slows down in places, unlike BBC torchwood.

I think six parts cutting out the OTT sex scenes and the slow bits would make for a much better viewing experience

I thought six parts as well. I've really enjoyed the episodes since episode four, Escape to LA.

I'd like to see how a condensed version would turn out.

I agree with tardisman 100%

MOST of episode 2 could probably go... all that stuff on the plane and in the airport just felt like so much filler

Episodes 2-4 can be cut together as one, which is the story of the team being targeted and breaking into PhiCorp.

Episodes 5-7 can be be cut together, which is the story of the categories, camps, Angelo and the "Families".

Episode 2-4 could be put together, but you'd have to lose a lot of Rendition. Then again, there wasn't much in that episode. I think episodes five and six should go together, don't include seven; that's a different chapter in the story.

If you're seriously going to put in all the work to re-edit it, I think what I'd change is to spread the Angelo backstory out through the whole seasons, instead of all in one episode.

For many fans, this season didn't really feel like Torchwood until episode 7. Meanwhile, for new viewers, episode 7 was totally out of the blue, and felt disconnected from the rest.
