According to Timeboy, who has provided many reliable Doctor Who filming reports, a scene from the Series 6 finale indicates that River Song is, in fact, Amy’s daughter!
“In episode 13, we see a version of River from Series 5 wearing the clothes from the end of Flesh and Stone. Amy greets her and asks how she is. River says she’s just climbed out of the Byzantium. “It was so much fun, wasn’t it mother?” (paraphrased, not the actual line), she remarks.
“River says, “What’s rule one with the Doctor; he lies”. River says she does too, how it’s been so hard seeing Amy, Rory and the Doctor, and knowing who she really is (Amy’s daughter) but not being able to say. Curiously, she also says she recognised the astronaut in 1969 but had to stay quiet.”
After all the build-up, it seems a bit disappointing and obvious, as it’s been speculated by fans already, many times, but then again with Doctor Who they seem to choose the simple answer, rather then the clever complicated one.
Steven Moffat has said he has written fake scenes to keep it a secret, so perhaps this is one of them? However with the BBC economy like it is, will they really waste money filming fake scenes? Remember the Red Eyed Ood attempted to be passed as "A Mistake".

No matter what the outcome is for River's reveal, you would be disappointed. It's been a few years now, and we've been speculating on River and who she is for a long time. SO... chances are good the truth could never live up to the hype.
The other thing is, wait to see how it's all revealed. The delivery is what's important. Moffat's a pro. I'm sure it will be great.
I'm a bit relieved actually.
If she is Amy's daughter, it would be a big cop out. As Farsighted said, it won't live up to the hype. Maybe for fans who have watched the new series it will. but for those that watch the original run, it wont compare to the 1st regeneration, finding out the Doctor has 2 hearts, First time we found out the Doctor's race and other big events
And another thing...what is (or would be since it is yet to ba confirmed) the point of River being Amy's daughter. I mean it is not really an interesting fact compared with who did RS killed of how she has met the doctor.
Unless the fact that River is Amy's daughter is linked with that, but i don't really see how it could...
IF River IS Amy's daughter as this suggests, perhaps the most important man she kills is Rory (as that would be her dad!)
Just throwing that idea in there!
It also would be completely weird actor choices for Rory and Amy if they were to be her parents, as Alex Kingston is bi-racial. River could be a descendant but I don't know what the point of that would be to the storyline.
I think it could be possible that the girl in the suit could be Amy's child though.
I dont see it as a cop-out even if true just because 'some people guessed'.
I mean, if 'hasnt been guessed' was the criteria for script writing, SM had better reveal that River is actually a Zygon, or a left handed blue slug from the planet Whimwam.
There will always be at least one theorist who 'gets it right'.
Most people guessed that the characters in Ashes to Ashes were actually dead, but that was the best finale I've seen in a long time.
Don't worry about it, is my advice. And serve us right for being spoiler junkies.
Didn't River kill the best man she ever knew? Just a thought, but could River be the little girl in the astronaut suit, and thus it's River killing the doctor at the beginning of Impossible Astronaut?
The little girl in the spacesuit was American, so I don't think it will be River Song :)
