Doctor Who 613 Will The Doctor Really Marry River Song?

According to the Press Association at the climax of Saturdays finale, 613, the Doctor (Matt Smith) and River Song (Alex Kingston) lock lips as they appear to tie the knot watched by Amy and Rory.

But as ever, fans will be left wondering to the end whether all is as it seems in an episode which sees time stand still.

Bosses also pay tribute to late actor Nicholas Courtney as the death of his long serving character The Brigadier is acknowledged in the show. The Doctor learns his old sidekick has died in a nursing home.

Call me mad, but .. hasn't everyone the Doctor ever met died by now?
It can't be a surprise to him.

@MrGrumpy: The Doctor has plenty of companions and other friends who are still alive, as established in the Sarah Jane Adventures episode ''The Death of the Doctor'' (and various novel and audio adventures)—and, for that matter, the current season, where as of episode 12 he's got every reason to believe Amy, Rory, Craig, etc. will outlive him.

Of course he knows they'll die eventually—and he's already seen Katarina, Adric, Astrid, etc. die in front of him—but hopefully that doesn't take away from the fact that some of them will live long, happy lives before they do. I assume he'll have the same bittersweet reaction to the Brig's death that most of his human fans do.
